The small brown colt entered the grove quitely. He pricked his ears forward when he heard voices and smiled softly when he heard his best friend's voice. As he came around the bend he saw Apollo and Estelle standing near each other. He let a small nicker excape his maw before he trotted over to the black filly and pushed his muzzle into her neck. He took a deep breath and blinked the tears away as he thought of his dead mother.
Apollo turned when he heard the small nicker and a smile appeared on his face when he saw Starbuck. He looked at the colt when he pushed his muzzle into his daughter's neck and he sighed and touched the colt's back. He said nothing as he watched the young colt breath, knowing he was trying to hold tears back.

Estelle returned the nuzzling and leaning against, trying to figure out what had her friend so badly shaken. It scared her, and she just nuzzled him, trying to ease it away to the best of her ability.
It was a little tiring, but that was okay. She got her impatience from her mother.
On the trail, Morga was getting annoyed with her healing ability. Walking wasn't helping either, since it just pulled on her cut. Oh, wait, Starbuck's cut.

Starbuck felt Apollo's touch on his back and that did it. Tears came out of his eyes and his breathing became quick. He pulled away from Estelle so he wouldn't get her pelt wet, but he just looked at her, his face wet now. "My....mother...was...she's dead!" He almost screamed the last words, but not in anger, but shock of what he was telling himself. He let himself fall to the ground again and this time, his head hit, making him feel sick.

Morga was finally reaching the end of the trail of blood, where all this started. Of course, all of this was met with her smelling death, and blood. 'I don't like this,' she thought, walking along, but picking up to a trot.
Okay, wasn't the best idea, but hey, she got there.
Meanwhile Estelle just wasn't sure how to handle her crying friend, and she gently lowered her head, nuzzling his neck again.

Near where the gray queen was standing, laid a broken and bloody body. The once white pelt was covered with blood and dirt, and the ground was also covered with blood. The body had not been eaten, unlike a deer's body that lay next to the white equine's.
Starbuck sighed and closed his eyes when he felt Estelle's touch. He tried to stop sobbing, and in the end, he did. As he lay there he looked up at his best friend and said, "Your mother. She healed me," He turned his brown gaze away from his friend before she could say anything else to him.
Apollo heard the colt's words and his eyes opened wide. He looked at the colt's side and saw a small spot of missing fur, and he wondered if that was the place where his wound was. The gaint stallion stamped a hoof and told Starbuck, "Come. We must get you to drink." Then he took a step forward and helped the young colt to stand.

Morga let out a sigh, soft, unheard really, going into high alert. Like hell she needed anymore injuries, and began to pick her way through. Yes, wolves had come, but she needed to think some more, needed to see what damage was done...if anyone else was harmed.
In the grove, Estelle looked confused. 'Mother can heal? How can Mother heal? She's just another mare...isn't she?' she thought, looking at her father for a moment, then looking back at her best friend.

Starbuck aloud the large black stallion to help him to his hooves, and then he let him walk him over to the stream. When they came to it, the colt just looked down into the water and saw his wet face and how sad he was. He took a deep breath before he held it in and tried to keep himself from crying again.
Apollo reached down and touched the young colt on his neck and waited for him to drink. When he saw the colt drink he took a step back and looked at his daughter, she had been looking at him, he knew, because her mane had moved a little. He sighed and then waited until the colt was done to help him over into a small pile of grass that he had made for himself to sleep on, but never had.

Morga looked around, trying to find the trail of wolves. Oh, the place stank of them, and no one but her was allowed to kill her mares. Oh, no, Morga was not happy, and she began to track down the wolves.
A swift kick could shatter bones, and she wouldn't kill them. No, they were needed to keep the deer down, but she would find out who killed her mare. That wolf would learn a new meaning to the word pain by the end of the day.
At the grove, Estelle began to just follow Starbuck, unsure of what to do, and kept within reach of his neck.

Starbuck lay down in the bed that Apollo had made and looked up at his best friend. He moved over a little and made some room for her, but the nest was big because of Apollo's size. "Will you please lay with me?" He asked Estelle as he looked at her, his brown eyes were full of sadness and fear for himself.
Apollo watched the young colt make room for his daughter and his heart birst. He couldn't believe tha the colt would care for his daughter, even though his own mother had been killed. The black stallion nuzzled Estelle toward the nest, hoping she would lie down with her friend.

Estelle had needed no encouragement from her father, and quickly went to Starbuck's side, curling up next to him. In fact, the way she lay next to him could be described as the way mares once curled up next to stallions before Morga took over.
Away from the grove, Morga ignored the pain in her side as she tried to follow the wolves' trail. The smell of blood and death had changed her senses, so she had to rely on her other senses.

Starbuck smiled softly when he felt Estelle's warm pelt up next to his. He closed his orbs and placed his head near her's. He took a deep breath and let himself breathe in the wonderful smell of Estelle. As minutes went by he became tired and slipped into a light sleep.
Apollo watched the young pair for a moment, before he turned and walked to the entrance of the grove. He stood there, waiting for Morga to return home, hoping she was okay. He also stood there, just in case something was out there, waiting to come in and kill the young foals, but he would never let that happen.

Estelle soon followed Starbuck into dreamland, and snuggled closer to him.
Deeper in the forest, Morga was already beginning to return home. Her search had been fruitless, and she needed to go home. The death that surronded the area made her upset, and she was also bleeding again.
Cantering around did that, especially since she was not in the best condition to do that, the deep cut making her feel a little light headed. She needed to head home.

Apollo stood near the sleeping children and stood watch. His big green orbs kept a nice eye out on the grove around him, and his large ears took in every sound that came inside. He swished his tail about him, and hoped that his mate was okay.

Morga neared her grove at an off-beat trot, trying not to get to upset over it. She hadn't helped the cut at all, in fact, reinjuring herself by continuing to move, continuing to exsist like this.
Letting out a soft snort of discomfort, she slowed to a walk, and began to enter her grove.
Dried blood clung to her side, and it still bleed, only sluggishly. Once she relaxed, and stopped moving, she would be fine. Light headed, she stumbled slightly only to righten herself quickly, trying to make sure she didn't appear weak.
Looking over, she saw Estelle and Starbuck curled up against each other, asleep, then Apollo. "I didn't find the wolves," she commented lightly, making it to the stream before her legs gave out beneathe her.
She collapsed beautifully, and she let out a soft snort of discomfort over hitting the ground, but otherwise didn't make a sound.
