Theo stood away from the mares, head low in submission, but not grazing, just staring at the ground. He wasn't hungry; in fact he was waiting for a command of some sort. At his sturdy age of 10, he was at his mid-life area now, unless someone decided to kill him.
He didn't need a name to tell him it was Morga they spoke of. In fact, even as he walked along the edge of the forest, even his gait spoke of submission. The 'ideal stallion', his white coat stood out against the darkness of the forest surrounding the lake.
With a soft snort, he stopped, ears flicking. He had heard some quiet hoof beats, and he knew it was most likely a mare. 'Or a stupid colt,' he thought, not moving, just waiting.

The white filly walked through the forest. She had lived here all of her life, and she was almost kick of the place. She tossed her white head up and turned toward yelling. One of the older mares was yelling at a younger colt. Dry-ice snorted and trotted over to them, her movments graceful and they held power. The older mare looked up when she saw Ice. "What do you want?" She hissed at the younger filly. "Quit harming him." She said to the mare and the colt looked up at her. His forehead was bleeding and Ice took a deep breath. "Leave him alone." She told the older mare, and the mare snorted and walked off.

Theo had watched this with some interest, but stayed out of the way as the other mare walked angrily by. He knew the colt, and Theo sighed. Walking over slowly, he gently nudged him. "I told you. If you just listen, they usually don't kick you, and leave you in peace. Thank you, for defending him," Theo whispered, and started to lead the colt away.
"This is...-," the colt started to argue, and Theo cut him off quickly.
"If you value your life, don't speak ill. I'm lucky to still be alive, so keep your voice down!" Theo stated, moving the colt again, bumping into him.
The colt started to protest, but another bump got him moving him again, toward the forest. In there, deeper in it, they could talk. The colt could vent, but not here. She could hear him here, and that would be bad.

Dry-ice blinked when she saw the white stallion come out of the trees. She looked down at the young colt and then listened to the stallion speak to him. She nodded her answer and then started to turn away, but something made her turn back around. "Who are you?" She asked the stallion, knowing he would stop.

Once far enough away, Theo looked over his shoulder and replied, "Theo. Most call me Theo."
Moving slowly, the entered the one safe place, and backed off from the colt. "Now you can rant. Just don't do so around the other mares. Apparently this one sees as you do. I just accepted things...and try to keep you alive! Don't make my self-appointed job harder on me! I don't want you getting killed, got it?" he shot at the colt, before backing off, standing dominant over the colt.
It was the only time he did so. He needed to make sure the colts understood. They had to listen to him, or die.

Ice stood there, the cool breeze pulling her white mane away from her neck. She blinked and shook her head. She knew she had heard that name somewhere, but she couldn't remember where. Before she could say anything else her name was called.
"Ice! Ice, come here! You have to see this!"
Ice turned and saw her large, yet shorter friend running toward her. She giggled and took a step back before the Vanner could run her over. "What do I have to see?" She asked her friend. "The lake, the mist on the lake looks awesome." Kalypso exclaimed. Ice snorted and then nodded. "Fine." She told her friend before she followed after the draft at a trot, looking back to try and see the white stallion.

The colt seemed to have been shamed into silence and took a submissive act before walking off. This left Theo to go after the girls, but submissive, and slowly.
There was something about 'Ice' that seemed familiar to him. He hadn't been 'chosen' often, so there was a slim chance that she was his filly, but that was beside the point.
Staying submissive, he watched, seeing the way the mist clung to the lake, staying within the confines of the forest to watch.

Kalypso trotted over to the edge of the heart-shaped lake. She tossed her white mane around her midnight colored neck. Her blue eyes danced with happiness as she looked upon the mist covered lake. "Isn't that weird?" She asked her snow-white friend.
Ice walked up to stand beside the Vanner. She was taller than her friend, but only by a little. She was a lot lighter and had more grace than the female beside her, but they were still best friends. "Yes, it is weird. I wonder why the mist is only on the lake." She wondered aloud, hoping to get an answer from the trees.

Theo would rather not know, he would rather let someone else tell him. If he acted like he knew, he could gain another scar, and one was more then enough for him. Though, in the Northern Forest, more 'rebels' were around.
In fact, Morga might just come down here, and attack them now. Take out those who opposed her. The scar on his side was that friendly reminder.
Shifting a little, he began to look around for Windspirit. Was she even around? He was wondering about the foal she had about two summers ago.

Ice shifted on her forehooves. She didn't like the mist on the water, and it confuised her. That's why she didn't like it. She snorted when she heard the bushes russling behind her. She turned her head quickly and looked to see a gray mare forming out of the bushes. "Mother, you scared me." She turned and walked over to the older mare and rubbed her neck with her maw. "Hello daughter." She spoke.
Kal turned around and walked over to the gray mare. "Hello Windspirit, how are you?" She asked, trying to be kind. "Oh stop Kalypso." The mare spoke to the Vanner. "You know you can be yourself around me." The Vanner nodded at the mare's words and then she rubbed her muzzle against the mare's neck in greeting.

Slowly, Theo walked out, and asked, submissively, "Permission to speak freely milady Windspirit?"
He watched Windspirit, happy to see her once more. He hadn't really seen her for two summers, but that was because he had been a little busy trying to make sure the colts didn't get themselves killed. Shifting a little, he made sure he remained submissive, even though this was Windspirit, with two fillies that seemed to want to disobey Morga's rule.

Ice turned to see the white stallion once more. For a moment her ears lied flat on her skull, until she looked at her mother. She blinked and then wondered why the stallion knew her mother's name. "Who..." "Hush child." Her mother spoke to her and Ice didn't finish her sentence.
The gray mare looked at the stallion and said, "Speak."
Kal walked over to Ice and stood beside her friend. "You know, you look a lot like that stag." She told Ice. Ice turned and looked at her friend with disbelief in her eyes. "Are you kidding me? We looking nothing a like." Kal looked at her friend and then back to the stallion. "Yeah, nothing like." She stated while rolling her eyes.

"I care for the young colts, and I only wish for the safety for all foals, even of the fillies, but I would have them keep their tongues tamed until they were deeper in the forest, where no one will hear them. I take the colts there milady, and I would not like the Queen to harm them, but it is not my place to say. My apologies milady Windspirit," Theo explained softly, keeping his voice low.
Backing off a ways, he kept himself submissive, and he watched Windspirit. She was still beautiful, still wonderful, and he quickly stared at the ground.

The gray mare just listened to the white stallion. She knew him from somewhere, but it was hard to remember. She had bred with three stallions in her life time, but only one foal had come out of breeding, and that was Dry-ice. She blinked and looked at the stallion closer. "Theo?" She whispered, only to herself. "Why do you tell me this, stag?" She asked him, her voice louder this time.
Ice and Kal stood behind the female, wondering the same thing.

Theo backed off a little and answered, "Milady, there was a mare, who was very angry at milady's filly. She will do anything to get back at her I'm afraid, and I do not wish to have her harm, or have any harm befall those here. It's not my place milady, it really is not, but I worry. It is my nature, for I watch the colts, and hope they live past these days."
Moving a little, he shifted, remaining submissive. 'Remain submissive, and no one asks questions,' he thought, keeping low.
