Dry-ice and Kalypso walked over to the new mother with smiles on their faces. The white filly looked down on the small colt and she could fell her heart warming up to the colt already. "He's so wonderful." She said to her mother as she watched the colt nurse. Kalypso smiled and reached her muzzle out to touch the colt in the side. He looked up from his nursing and touched the filly's muzzle back. The Vanner smiled and pulled her head away from the colt, her face beaming with joy.

Theo opened his eyes in time to see the exchange, and slowly took two steps forward closer. He stopped, and just went back to watching with his one good eye. Letting out a soft sigh, he waited.
He had a feeling Ice was still not excepting of him; probably because he wasn't around all of her life to this point, so he didn't come forward.

Windspirit smiled and then said, "Could you two please excuse me? I am really tired and I would like to bond with him." She watched as the two fillies nodded and then walked away, giving the gray mare some peace.
Momentum finished nursing and snorted some. He slowly walked over to a large bush near the tree line and took a deep breath in before he sneezed. He looked over to his mother with wide eyes, like he didn't know what had happened to him. His mother just chuckled and then began to graze. He snorted and then trotted over to his mother, a very sloppy trot at that. He tossed his head and then lied down beside her back legs.
Windspirit grazed as her foal slept and a warm feeling came over her. She sighed a little and then looked up, toward the forest, and blinked. "Theo, if you're out there, you may come see your son." She told the forest, hoping Theo was near. She didn't want any other stallions coming near her though and if they did...they were in for it.

Theo trotted forward at her invitation, and lowered his head to look at the colt. "Hello Momentum. I'm your father," he greeted softly.
The colt looked so innocent and small, he wouldn't understand why, in the years to come, he wouldn't be able to stand next to his mother as an equal. He wouldn't understand why his father could only visit them late, rarely coming earlier in the day.
[ooc: curious, when would residents in the other forests learn of Morga's filly?]

[OOC-When-ever Morga tells everyone of her.]
Windspirit looked at Theo as he walked toward them. A warm tingle of excitment surged through her spine as she watched him walk toward them. Yes, he was years older than her, but she felt something for the stallion. She swished her darker colored tail about her and listened to his words as he spoke to the sleeping colt. She looked at him and closed her blue orbs for a moment. When she opened them the colt has his head up.
Momentum heard the deep male voice and it awoke him from his sleep. He lifted his head and blinked, hoping that the blasting sun would leave his orbs. When the sun had died down he saw a huge white horse standing above him. Fear flashed through him until his mother reached down and touched his mane with her maw. He looked up into her eyes and he could see that the stallion wouldn't hurt him, in her eyes. He slowly stood and looked at his father, saying nothing to him, for he didn't know how to speak just yet.

"I must go. If I stay too long, questions will be asked," Theo stated, slowly backing up, away from the pair.
He had to, he just wished he didn't have to. In another time, another place, he would stand by her side, never moving, protecting her. For now, he would just do so from the trees, out of sight, away from them.

Windspirit looked down at her colt who was looking up at his father. She listened to the stallion's words and she let out a sigh. "I wish it didn't have to be like this." She whispered to him, knowing no one else could hear her words, other than him. She swished her tail about her and waited for the stallion to leave before she did anything else.

Back in his hidden spot, where Theo had watched the birth, Theo watched them, making sure no one would come near them. Every time a stallion started to come along his bath, heading toward Windspirit, they saw him and went to the other side of the lake.
It wasn't that they feared him, but they knew he wouldn't like them near his family, wouldn't like them near them at all.

Windspirit knew that Theo was watching out for them, so she lied down in the grass that was very close to the sand that lead into the lake water. She sighed as her gray body touched the ground and she watched as her son walked over and lied down next to her. She smiled to herself and then licked her son's ear before placing her head down and falling asleep.
Momentum didn't fall asleep as his mother did, but looked around instead. His ears moved all over the place, catching the sounds of the forest around him. He watched as a butterfly landed close to him and he reached out, trying to touch it, but before his muzzle reached the butterfly, it flew off. He snorted and then blinked a few times, feeling the tiredness he had in his body rush over him.

Days after the new colt was born Kalypso walked over to her best friend and nuzzled her awake. The smaller white filly was lying on the ground sleeping, as the Vanner kept watch. Kal waited until her white friend opened her eyes before she said, "Ice, I need to talk to you."
Ice blinked and saw a fuzzy view of her best friend, until she blinked again and a clearer view of her came into her brain. She listened to her words and she sighed before she stood up and shook her white pelt out, getting rid of dead leaves off her pelt. She looked at her friends face and knew something was up. "What's up?"
Kalypso tried to smile a little, but she knew it was going to be hard for her and for Ice. She kept telling herself, "It's only going to be two months, then I'll be back." She took a deep breath and said, "I'm a mare now, you know. I turned three the same day that Momentum was born. I'm getting close to getting into heat, and I want to travel to the other forests to find a mate. I've heard rumors about a new stallion that has come, and I am going to find him."
Ice blinked when she heard the news and she snorted. "That's stupid!" She exclaimed, and she started up before her friend could speak. "There are plenty of stallions here that have had their eye on you for a while now. I know they can't pick us, but some are darn cute." She looked into her friend's eyes and she knew that Kal had already made up her mind. "How long are you going to be gone for?" She asked.
"Two months, and it will go by quick, I promise. Plus, you and your mother have to start training Momentum in our ways, not Morga's." The Vanner whispered the last sentence to her friend so no one would over-hear and tell the evil mare. She nuzzled the white's neck and then said, "Good-bye friend, I'll return home soon." She turned and looked back once before she broke into a canter and left her friend standing alone.
Ice took in a sharp breath as she watched her friend leave her for a long time. She tossed her mane and then reared unto the air and let a scream out of her maw. She came back down and felt a tear slip out of her blue orb, and down he cheek. "Good-bye friend, return safe."

Theo watched, not moving from his 'sentry post' as he called it. He was watching over Ice and Kal at the moment, before returning to Windspirit, but he realized that Kal's choice was wise. 'Stay here Ice my daughter, and realize she would only be picking from them? Your friend is one who seems to be looking for someone, not just anyone,' he thought, and turned, slowly going back to Windspirit.
Well, not really. He was going to go near her, when he stopped, and turned, facing his daughter again. "Love is a precious thing, weather it be for friend, family, or lover," he commented softly, not sure if she heard.
((ooc: sorry it took so long to reply; I had some writer's block))

Dry-ice stood there, the sun shinning through the trees and down onto her white pelt. She snorted when she heard her father speak, she hadn't heard him walk up though. She turned and looked at him, her ears pointed forward to catch what he was saying.
She blinked and asked, "What do you know about love?" Her tone was not mean to the stallion this time, but held something else. She wanted to learn about this thing called love, cause it seemed as if her best friend was going out into the wide world to find it. She swished her tail and looked at her half-blind father. She did not love him, but liked him. She loved her mother and her friend Kalypso, but was it love or something else she held for her mother and dearest friend?

Theo sighed, shaking his head a little. "I know you have no control over it, and when it is true love, not only will you live for that horse, you would also willingly die for them. Love cannot be defined in such simple terms though I can try. And I know love because love created you. It also created brother," Theo answered, just as softly.
He answered because she asked. 'You willingly risk your life for the ones you love Ice,' he thought, though didn't say it.
He wouldn't have to, or so he hoped.

The white filly listened to the stallion's answer. She stood there for a moment and thought about his words. She would die for her best friend, that was true and for her mother also, so she knew she loved them. She looked back to the stallion and thought, "Would I die for you though? " She nodded to him and then asked another question. " Have you been to see Momentum lately? He has learned how to jump already." She smiled at little at her father and relized she wished to start a relationship with him, and be kind to him.[/blockquote]

Theo chuckled a little and nodded. "Yes. He startles me at times. But he defiantly got your mother's spirit. Like you. I'm always glad of that. He should get some trickery though, or she will not be happy with him. I'm very lucky to still be standing here. A story for another time," he answered, his words sounding old to him.
Shaking his head a little, he muttered, "I really am getting old, if I'm talking like this."
