Dry-ice smiled at her father's words and chuckled when he said he was getting old, in her mind he was getting old. She swished her tail and asked, "Would you like to go see him and Mother with me? She won't be expecting it and she'll like the surprise." She looked around and didn't see any other mares, but that didn't mean some were listening in, and if they were, who cared?

"You are getting bold," Theo answered, walking up to his daughter, but keeping his head low.
After all, he might as well, beat going the long way through the forest, leaving clumps of his tail in some places. Of course, that was during the detours.
Due to the fact he wasn't really all that impressive, Theo wasn't completely missed in general. The colts missed him, but they knew where to find him. The mares did not. Well, Windspirit did.

"I don't care what the other mares think. It is time for someone to stand up for something." She told her father as she began to walk toward her mother that was by the lake, she was always by the lake.
When they got there she saw her mother sleeping on the grass away from the sand now that she had her strenghth back. It had been a few days before she could move with-out being tired and now she was getting her sleep back. Ice looked around and saw her darker brother standing on the edge of the dark colored water. Theo shook his head a little, knowing his daughter was right, but also knowing she shouldn't be so open about it. There were many mares that supported Morga, and Morga wouldn't like it. 'Don't be foolish Ice. I can only defend you till death,' he thought, though did not let his body language betray his morbid thoughts.
"Momentum, if you are going to stand at the water's edge, please do so in shallow water," Theo asked softly, walking over to Windspirit.

The dark colt turned and looked at his father before he rolled his orbs and backed away from the water's edge. He smiled when he saw his older sister and trotted over to her. "Hello Dry-ice." He spoke to his sister before he pushed his forehead into her's.
Ice smiled as she dropped her head and felt the pressure of her brother's forehead on her's. They had made that greating two days after he was born, because he couldn't speak yet, he was now six days old. Ice felt him pull his head away and she said, "Hello Momentum. Would you like to race?" She smiled when she saw him nod and then they got ready to race.
Windspirit opened her eyes and took a deep breath. She blinked when she saw that Momentum was gone from the water's edge and pain flowed through her, until she smelt Theo's sent. She looked up and saw the white stallion standing over her. "Hello Theodore." She said to him as she slowly got up from the grass.

"Your children went off to race. I beleive Momentum isn't very happy that I told him to stay near the shallow water," Theo commented softly, a soft chuckle acompanying his last words.
Backing away a little as she stood, he watched her stand, loving it. Of course, he loved everything about her, and his tail swished lazily. 'I do well with all children but my own apparently,' he thought, looking over at his daughter and son.

"You're cheating!" Momentum yelled at Ice grabbed his mane with her teeth and began to pull him back. He had to slow to a canter instead of his full gallop. He tried to toss his mane out of her mouth, but it only pulled it more, it didn't hurt him, but made him angry, in a playful way.
Ice let go of her brother's mane and took off at her slow gallop. She looked back to see her brother's angry, but fun face, glaring at her. She giggled and let a birst of speed flow through her legs. She could hear Momentum catching up to her and she couldn't believe it.
Windspirit saw her white daughter tugging on her grulla son's mane and she smiled. "They love each-other so much." She told Theo as she pressed her forehead into his strong neck. "Just as I love you." She whispered into his neck.

Theo listened, and turned, gently pressing his nose against her neck. "I love you too Windspirit," he whispered back, gently nuzzling her.
He did; if he had to, he would die to protect them. They were his family, his life. They were his love. Gently nuzzling Windspirit again, he turned his head to watch them out of his good eye. "Viper went off to hide yesterday," Theo commented softly.
What no one knew, except for a few select stallions and Theo himself, was that she wasn't coming back.

Windspirit pulled back away from Theo when she heard his words. She blinked and asked, "What? What would she have to hide from? She's a strong female." Her tone wasn't mean, but it held some anger. She didn't like that Theo was making up things. She looked at him, her eyes soft again, instead if mistrusting.
Momentum pulled up and snorted at his sister. He turned and tossed his mane into the air and saw Ice's glare before he broke into a gallop. He laughed as he ran back to his mother and father. He pulled up and walked toward his mother, instead of running full blast into her. He swished his tail and then began to eat from her.

"She always does, this time of the year. To avoid her feelings. You know she doesn't want foals. I don't know if she'll come back to this Forest this year though. She might go to the Middle Forest and remain there," Theo answered softly, trying to not arouse suspision within Windspirit.
He closed his eyes, and moved away a little to give them privacy, having a feeling they would be having a discussion in a few moments. No Viper would not be returning. Not this year.

Windspirit nodded and she let a sigh excape her maw. She knew that Theo would be safe now and she was glad that he was calm now. She turned and nuzzled Momentum's rump with her gray muzzle. She watched as the colt ate and she lifted her gaze when she heard other hoof beats.
Dry-ice walked up to her family and looked at all of them. Her father, the white one, her mother the beautiful and her brother, the spiritual. She smiled to herself and then swished her tail about her, just watching her family.

Theo turned his head, and looked at his daughter. Walking forward slowly, he swished his tail, ears flicking around a bit. He heard somthing and turned, seeing the colt that Ice had saved trot up. Well, he wasn't a colt anymore, but that was beside the point. A quick look with his good eye told him that the colt hadn't done the deed, and he looked at the colt. "What's wrong?" he asked.
He mumbled something about Viper taking off for the Middle Forest. The story would spread quickly...hopefully. Theo just nodded a little, and the colt gave Ice a quick look before scurrying off. Theo snorted a little after him, and shook his head, chuckling. "You have a crush," he commented.

Dry-ice watched the colt, a year now, and blinked. He was a ton smaller when she had saved him, but now he was bigger. She swished her tail when he left and then heard her father's words. She rolled her orbs and said, "Yeah, he may like me, but I'm not looking for a mate yet. I'm not even a mare!" She laughed softly.

"Doesn't stop crushes. Don't worry, he might grow out of it. He better grow out of it," Theo said, the last part playful.
He swishing his tail a little, he would wait. The select few. He just needed to wait. The only problem was, would they get back, or would they too die in the desert?
Removing Viper was...hard, and dangerous, on many levels. Morga cared nothing for Viper though. It was obvious, especially for Theo. He saw how, unless Viper grovelled at Morga's hooves, Morga ignored her.

A few weeks had pasted sense Kalypso had left Dry-ice alone. The young white filly walked slowly toward the lake. Her pelt wasn't as white has it had been a few weeks eariler. She hadn't bathed for that long and her pelt was brown in some places. She would be a full-grown mare in a few weeks and she knew she needed to step up her game, but it was just too hard with her friend gone. She took a deep breath as she walked forward through the forest, not paying attention to anything, or anyone around her. She just walked forward.
