Flicker darted through the forest, cantering along, his fine bone structure carrying him with ease over the twisted trees, and he skirted around, barely missing crashing into trees.
Letting out a little buck, he charged along, stopping as he came to the cave before whirling away, darting through the trees in a complete circle. Sliding to a stop again, he whirled around, giving little bucks happily, looking ecstatic.

The warm breeze of the evening was almost too much for her. The two year old filly walked slowly behind her mother and a few other females that insisted that she come along with them on a walk. She hated walking with her mother and listening to their boring talk. She took a deep breath when she heard her name. She turned to see an older bay female looking behind at her.
"Yes?" She asked, her voice polite and kind. The old mare smiled at little before she repeated her question. "What do you like doing?" The older mare asked. "Oh, um...Well I like to run." She told truthfully and the older mare laughed at her. "Well females like us don't run, sweetheart." Vicodin rolled her orbs and mumbled, "I'm not like you, sweetheart." She looked up and saw her mother giving her and sharp look and she sighed. She was dead-meat.

Flicker became quiet when he heard the mares and snuck over, peaking out somewhat, curious. 'Oh, they're going on one of the walks!' he thought, and saw the very young mare following them.
He became a little intrested, and backed into the shadows, well, darker shadows, watching them. He might get a playmate, if he could get her away from the stiffs. 'If she wouldn't mind...though from the look on her face, I don't think she would,' he thought, and, lowering his head, inched forward.

"What was that?" Asked the older mare that had spoken to the liver chestnut. All of the other mares stopped when the older mare did and looked around, for what-ever the older mare was looking for. "I bet it was nothing." One of the other mares said that stood next to Vicodin's mother. The other mares nodded and then looked to the liver chestnut.
"I'll go check it out, if that's okay with you ladies." She said to them, and no one made any movement to stop her. She turned and walked up the small bank and into the trees. She stopped and looked down as she hid in the trees, and she let a sigh excape her when she saw the small herd of essas move on, with-out her.
"Thank you." She whispered to herself as she turned and started to walk, but only to stop and stare at a colt, about the same age as her, or a little older. She blinked and stood there, not saying anything until a grin came to her face. "I think I need to thank you. You got me away from those crazies!" She chuckled with her last sentence and just looked at the chestnut stallion before her.

Flicker watched her slip away, and grinned at her. "Not a problem. Glad to help. Let's get out of here though, or the Stiffs will come back. Sorry if I offended you," Flicker whispered, backing away slowly from the mares that were walking away.
With each step, he knew he risked being heard by the Stiffs, but, hey, they were. Walking all day, they were and he smiled a little at the mare. "Most call me Flicker," he introduced softly.

"Yeah, lets go." She said and began to move off, knowing the male would follow her. She heard his name and smirked. "Most call you Flicker, but what can I call you?" She was hinting that she wished for his full name, but was he too dumb to understand? She would find out. "I'm Vicodin." She told him, a playful grin on her face.

"Dancing Flames is my full name, which is why most call me Flicker," Flicker answered her question, having a feeling that was it, and was following her with ease.
She was finely built, more so then him, and he grinned. 'Someone to play with,' he thought, and picked up speed, easily covering ground in this forest.

"Hum. Smart boy. " She thought as she looked over his finely built body. She blinked when he moved into a faster gate and she snorted and pushed herself into a trot. She tossed her black mane and nipped playfully at Flicker's shoulder before she broke into a canter.[/blockquote]

Flicker let out a playful squeal and weaved away before cantering to follow her. He loved it and he was having fun. Picking up speed a little, he began to race her, and weaved around trees, leaping over some roots, knowing this part of the forest well.
With quick persision, he weaved again, coming up close to her again, picking up speed over the slightly treacherous ground.

The chestnut cantered along side the stallion next to her. Her heart soared with excitment in getting away from the dumb, old mares that her mother made her hang-out with. She hated them with a passion and was glad her mother let her lose this time. She turned her gaze toward the stallion and felt something leap in her heart before she pushed forward, letting her long legs take the ground in long strides. She didn't know where they were racing to, but she was having a blast.[/blockquote]

Flicker let out a little buck, and snorted happily, picking up speed a little, though slowed shortly afterward since this part was bad to gallop over and he looked over at Vicodin. "We should slow down just a bit in this part. The roots here can catch your hooves really easily and if you are galloping bad things can happen," he warned, but in a way that didn't sound demanding.
Flicker just didn't want her hurt, and a broken leg might not heal right. He remembered the one colt that had been his age.
They killed him, because his hoof got caught, in the roots, and a broken leg is hard to heal. It was also a bad break, not at a place that healed well.
'If he had been a mare, he would have been spared,' he thought, though shook his head a little.

Vicodin flicked her ear toward him and nodded before she slowed down to a trot. Her hooves made some sound on the dry ground. She swished her tail about her before she slowed to a walk and just let her hooves carry her anywhere. " So, Flicker, how old are you?" She asked him as she looked around, but left her ear pointed toward him so she could catch his answer. She was almost a mare, well in a few months, but she was already looking for a stallion to mate with. She didn't let any of the other mares know about it because then they would bug her, and she didn't like the snob mares anyway.[/blockquote]

Flicker fell into pace with her, and flicked his tail lightly, playfully against her back legs while looking innocent afterward, shortly after she asked her question. "Oh, I'm three summers. A nice, yet, stupid age. I still like having fun. You won by the way. I slowed down before you did, and you beat me. Of course, that's because of the roots around here. You don't want to go over a trot through here," he replied after some thought.
He didn't find the question odd, after all, she was pretty, and he found her attractive. He wouldn't mind being with her.

Three summers was only a year older than her. She smiled to herself and felt his soft touch of his tail on the back of her legs. She felt a shiver run down through her body and she looked over at him. She had never felt that before and it was an odd, yet, nice feeling. She swished her tail and let it drape over his backside before she pulled it slowly off of his back. " Yes, it seems dangerous around here. Something I enjoy...danger." She told him with-out hinting anything about the soft touch of her tail. She walked beside him, her head held high but her gaze now on him.[/blockquote]

Flicker lowered his head a little, like in a shy movement at her words, and flicked his tail under her girth area. "You know, there's a cave up ahead," he stated, ears perking forward a little, snorting softly.
He looked thoughtful for a moment, and added, "Not many know about it."
Looking proud of himself at this point, he looked up at her slightly, and grinned up at her.
